The test colors came out 50/50. The green was perfect while the yellow looked great on a card, but was 4 shades too light on the house.
We had contractors come and because it was November (i.e. winter) we got a great price to paint the entire houses as they were quiet and looking for work.
There was one coat of undercoat .....
..... and then another coat was applied.
When the yellow first went on, we both thought is was going to be too bright as well.
The painter assured us that the paint would "settle down" after a month or so of weathering, which it did.
3 coats of yellow went on the house for a total of 5 including the undercoat.
The primary yellow color is offset nicely by the green roof with white and green trim highlights.
By the end of the following summer, we counted 23 houses with the same color scheme in our neighborhood, when we were the only one. Can you say copy cats???
